About Rossana

¡Hola! My name is Rossana Smart (formerly De Alba). I am a native Spanish speaker from Mexico with over 15 years of experience working in education and business environments in the UK and Mexico. I have taught Spanish to students aged 13–18 in the UK, following both the AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A-Level curricula. I also have experience as a pastoral mentor and house resident at a UK boarding schools, so I understand how to support students not just academically, but pastorally as well. As a professional, I bring energy, clarity, and structure to every lesson. Mi nombre es Rossana Smart, formerly De Alba — a bilingual Spanish tutor with over 15 years of experience in education, language support, and pastoral care in the UK. I offer fun, structured, and supportive online Spanish lessons tailored to each student’s needs. My Teaching Approach I enjoy creating a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to speak and make mistakes — because that’s how we learn! My lessons are interactive and conversation-based, with a strong emphasis on real-world usage, grammar support, pronunciation, and listening skills. For school-age learners, I align lessons with the Edexcel and AQA Spanish curriculum, helping with exam prep, oral practice, and coursework support. Lesson Length Most sessions are 60 minutes, but I’m happy to offer 30-minutes sessions depending on your needs and goals.
