About Zara

I am a bilingual PhD student at the University of Oxford. I received my Master's in Brain Sciences from UCL and a first-class BSc from the University of Warwick. I am passionate about linguistics; I achieved 100% in my language courses, and have experience working as the head coach of British English for a language-learning platform. I am equally proficient in both English and Turkish and provide tutoring for learners at a range of levels.

About the lesson

I believe in tailoring teaching methods to create a bespoke tutoring experience for each individual. Learning preferences will be discussed in the first lesson, alongside specific strengths and weaknesses to target during lessons. Once able to do so, lessons will be conducted in the target language (Turkish) as much as possible to encourage confidence and improve speed of conversation. Written/comprehensive tasks may be assigned at the end of lessons to review at the beginning of the next lesson where appropriate.

Perfect! Zara is an excellent tutor. She has helped me to considerably develop my Turkish speaking and listening skills; being the two areas that I have always struggled with. In just three months, I feel much more confident with both speaking and listening. Zara has also helped me with complex grammar (e.g. conditional tense) which I had never seen before. Recently, Zara has started to conduct each lesson in Turkish which is slightly daunting at times, but extremely useful for further development!
