About Dana
Hello, everyone! My name is Dana Lee, and I’ll be your Korean teacher!
I was born and raised in Korea, so Korean is my native language. I learned English later in life and now live in the United States, which has given me experience as a bilingual speaker.
I’ll use what I’ve learned from teaching myself a second language, along with my experience teaching Korean, to help you improve at a pace and level that works for you.
If speaking Korean makes you nervous or embarrassed, don’t worry! I know very well how intimidating it can feel to speak a language that isn’t your native language. If you get stuck or have trouble expressing yourself during a lesson, you’re always welcome to switch to English—I’ll understand you. And if you’d like, I can also explain things in English to make everything easier to understand.
I’m also very familiar with current Korean culture, trends, slang, and popular expressions. As someone who is part of the generation experiencing Korea’s culture firsthand, I can introduce you to things that may be difficult to learn from textbooks or that you might not know unless you’ve spent time around native Korean speakers.
Most importantly, I want to make our lessons personal and enjoyable. What are you interested in? We can talk about your hobbies, the things you love, and whatever topics you’re curious about, while gradually building your ability to have natural conversations in Korean.
