About Sofia
Ciao!! I am Italian but I have been living in the UK for 9 years.
I'm passionate about learning new languages and love teaching. I travelled to 23 countries and speak English and Italian fluently and understand and speak some French and Spanish.
I have taught English in Italy to various class levels and different age range including young adults with learning disabilities. I obtained the TEFL diploma (Teach English as a Foreign Language) in 2015.

Learning a language is much more than just learning words and structures, is building that confidence to use them. When I first moved to England I had to learn English too, thus I can understand some of the struggles one can go through when learning a language but then again everyone is different.
I believe teaching is not universal especially when tutoring. Thus, my lessons adjust to the needs of the student, including using a text book, playing learning games, and telling each other little stories. And then just practice, practice, practice!

I worked closely with Sofia when she delivered the National Citizen Service in 2018. She is a brilliant tutor who is empathetic and engaging. She supported groups of young people from different backgrounds to get the most out of the NCS.
