About Maria

I take a highly intentional and reflective approach to teaching to ensure every lesson is effective and tailored to your progress.

After each session, I review and assess both your development and my teaching to identify areas where you need the most support. I keep detailed notes so that every lesson builds on the last, and you’ll have access to organized materials and key points you can revisit at any time.

You can expect:
Consistent, well-structured lessons that build on your progress
Careful tracking of your strengths, challenges, and goals
Clear follow-up materials to support your independent study
A focused, distraction-free learning environment
Flexibility to adapt lessons as your needs evolve

About the lesson

I offer fully personalized French, Spanish, and Portuguese lessons designed around your goals, your pace, and your learning style.

With over 5 years of teaching experience across Europe and the United States, I’ve worked with students in both one-on-one settings (my specialty) and classroom environments.

I hold a degree in French from Brigham Young University and have built my approach on proven, research-based language learning methods.

Each student receives a structured but flexible learning plan. I prepare every lesson in advance and provide:
Personalized lesson plans
Organized materials and folders for review
A balance of speaking, grammar, and comprehension practice
Cultural and historical insights (if desired)

As a multilingual speaker (English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese) and a current language learner myself (Korean and Japanese), I understand both sides of the process. This allows me to better support you, anticipate challenges, and make learning more effective and enjoyable.

I will take you from beginning through fluency!
