About Danny

My name is Danny and I am from Puerto Rico. I currently live in Texas. I enjoy teaching Spanish. I speak Spanish and English and am currently learning Portuguese. I can help you learn Spanish through grammar, reading, and practical exercises that increase your fluency and self-confidence. From elementary school to college, we study Spanish in Puerto Rico. During my college degree, I also took education courses apart from my regular degree. I have traveled to different Hispanic countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and Spain where their Spanish is different than mine. I consider Spanish a beautiful language that once you learn it, opens the doors to enjoy the richness of different cultures and understand their customs.

About the lesson

As a Spanish student in my classes, you will be challenged to confidently step out of your comfort zone and try to speak Spanish. You will learn new vocabulary and forms of expression that will help you to function in contexts such as employment or international travel.

I use a constructivist method to develop teaching. This method is based on the idea that students build their knowledge from their previous experiences and skills.

When teaching Spanish online effectively, I will use a variety of materials and resources that adapt to different learning styles. Some of these materials are:

Audiovisual Resources:
• Educational Videos: YouTube channels specialized in teaching Spanish.
• Movies and Series: Use clips from movies or series in Spanish to practice listening comprehension.

• Recommendations of specific textbooks for learning Spanish or supplementary materials such as worksheets.

• Interactive Online Exercises such as using platforms such as Quizlet or Kahoot! Which can be useful for practicing vocabulary and grammar through play.

• Adapted Articles and Readings: Use simple articles adapted to the student's level on interesting topics that encourage oral and written discussion.

As a tutor, I am interested in that you learn Spanish. That's why I will encourage you to speak it during our sessions. My specialty is teaching Spanish to beginners and from there, if the student continues to progress, go to the next levels.
