About James
I am a Colombian-born recent Hofstra University graduate. I have been offering private tutoring for a year at the university level, as well as working as a teaching assistant for Spanish and Spanish Literature courses at Hofstra University for 2 years. I have studied abroad and spent extended time in Spain, Colombia, and Mexico.

My teaching method is student-centered. I focus on what the student needs and try to tailor my approach in addressing those needs by assessing how each student learns best. Depending on the student's current mastery of Spanish, I will aim to incorporate the language into as much of the instruction and explanation as possible — as immersion is the best way to learn a language.
