About Keren
I was born and raised in Mexico in a bilingual home so I grew up speaking both English and Spanish.
I have assisted people trying to learn both of these languages, and have found that by far, the best way to grow in these skills is by getting regular opportunities to use the language.
The goal when learning a new language is to begin to think directly in that language instead of always having to translate in your head - this can only be achieved by regular exposure or immersion.
As a native speaker, I am also able to give insight into cultural context, background, and idioms.

As someone who grew up fully bilingual in Spanish and English,
I believe the best way to learn a language is by using it!
Read the following statements and see if any of these apply to you:
- You understand a lot of Spanish but can't speak it.
- You struggle with proper pronunciation.
- You have trouble conjugating verbs.
- You struggle with gendered nouns.
- You know a lot of vocabulary but do not know how to put it all together.
If any of these statements represent you in your Spanish learning journey, the best way to improve in these areas is to start speaking!
I have experience translating, and tutoring in Spanish, as well as leading conversational Spanish.
If you are already taking a Spanish class I am able to tutor you in that, or supplement by providing conversational topics and additional vocabulary so you can gain practice actually using the language with a native speaker. All while talking with someone who can gently correct you, and offer insights into the deeper nuances of language and Latin American culture.
