About Maria

Hi! I'm a bilingual Spanish–English educator originally from Valencia, Spain, and now based in West Hartford, Connecticut. Spanish is my native language, and I learned English as a second language, so I know firsthand how challenging, and how rewarding, it is to learn a new language.
Since November 2025, I have worked as an ESOL Tutor at West Hartford Public Schools, providing bilingual Spanish–English academic support to multilingual middle school students (ages 11–14) from 10+ countries in small-group settings.

About the lesson

I teach both English and Spanish. I can explain things in both languages when it helps you understand, and I always encourage you to use the language actively during class. Expect real-life conversation, clear explanations, and useful feedback in a patient, friendly environment where making mistakes is part of learning.
