About Irene

I started teaching when I was 15 years old in 2008 as a part-time job. I was a school support and a language reinforcement teacher for both Spanish and German kids (I attended a German school and therefore there were many German kids).

I kept teaching Spanish and German in Madrid until I moved to Germany to study a bachelor’s degree. While being there I started teaching Spanish to several groups of young people and adults who wanted to learn my language.

I kept working as a teacher until last year when I went travelling around Asia to do some volunteering. I was 4 months in Myanmar and provided humanitarian assistance and healthcare to poor people. During that time I was an English teacher for some kids, and also Spanish teacher for young people, adults and nuns that came from surrounding villages just to learn Spanish. That was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had.

Since teaching has been always a part time job, I don’t have any official teacher licence but I do have more than 10 years experience teaching groups up to 15 people. Furthermore, the fact of having been learning 5 languages (Spanish, English, French, German and Chinese) for my whole life enables me to understand how it feels like to learn a new language while using different methods, and being able to feel the difference between a good and a bad teaching-system.

About me...
I am a friendly person, I am energic, happy and easy-going. I love kids and teaching, and I love to see how people want to improve and do so. I really appreciate how people love my language and want to learn it, and that is why teaching and sharing my knowledge is one of my favourite things to do.
