About Stro

My name is Stro, a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from Beijing, China, with a clear and standard accent, 3 years of teaching experience, and a Master of Arts degree. I am professional, patient, and well organised, and I take every lesson seriously. I carefully prepare structured teaching materials and clear explanations to ensure that students feel supported, confident, and motivated throughout their learning journey.

I teach Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing to students of different ages and proficiency levels. Each lesson is thoughtfully adapted to the student’s individual goals—whether the focus is daily communication, pronunciation improvement, or overall language development. I aim to create a respectful, reliable, and encouraging learning environment where students can build a strong foundation in Mandarin and progress steadily at their own pace.

About the lesson

I teach Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua) with a comprehensive focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing（中文普通话听、说、读、写）. I am able to teach using Pinyin (拼音) and can conduct lessons in both Simplified Chinese (简体字) and Traditional Chinese (繁体字), depending on the learner’s needs and goals.

I teach with a clear, well-structured, and patient approach, explaining Mandarin in a logical, step-by-step, and easy-to-understand way, while delivering lessons in a relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable manner. From beginner to advanced levels, I help students build confidence and develop accurate, natural Mandarin from a strong foundation.

My lessons emphasise:
Accurate pronunciation and tone control. Practical vocabulary and natural, everyday expressions. Chinese grammar, including sentence structure, word order, and usage. Explanation of tenses and time expressions in Mandarin. Training in complex sentence patterns, connectors, and advanced structures. Systematic guidance in speaking, reading, and writing. Chinese writing at all levels, with particular strength in advanced Chinese writing, including structured essays, formal writing, academic-style writing, and other advanced written forms. Introduction to and explanation of Classical Chinese (古汉语) for learners interested in traditional texts, literature, or deeper linguistic understanding. Ample practice time with constructive, gentle correction and clear feedback

Each lesson is carefully adapted to the student’s level, learning pace, and learning objectives. I aim to create a relaxed, supportive, and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable using Mandarin and making steady progress.

Lessons typically last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and concentration level.

Work for a Chinese company or need to learn Mandarin for business and professional purposes. Have little or no prior knowledge of Chinese but are motivated to begin learning. Plan to live in, travel to, or relocate to China in the future. Want to improve oral communication and speaking confidence.
