I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from Heilongjiang, Northeast China, currently based in the UK. I have a clear and natural Mandarin accent, as well as a strong understanding of Northeastern Chinese dialects, regional expressions, and cultural meanings.
Before coming to the UK, I worked at Heilongjiang Provincial Museum as a museum docent. In this role, I delivered official guided tours, recorded exhibition narration videos, and presented cultural heritage content for Heilongjiang TV Children’s Channel. These experiences helped me develop professional speaking skills, clear pronunciation, confidence in front of an audience, and the ability to explain Chinese culture in an engaging and accessible way.
I completed my master’s degree in the UK and am currently pursuing a PhD, so I can communicate clearly in both Chinese and English. I understand the challenges of learning a language in a different country, and I always try to make my lessons supportive, structured, and encouraging.
My goal is to help students build confidence in Mandarin speaking, pronunciation, listening, and cultural understanding. I am patient, organised, and careful with each student’s progress, and I will adapt my lessons to suit their level, interests, and learning goals.

My lessons are friendly, practical, and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I focus on helping students speak Mandarin more naturally and confidently, rather than only memorising vocabulary or grammar rules. In class, I usually combine pronunciation practice, conversation training, listening exercises, useful daily expressions, and cultural explanations.
I pay close attention to tones, pronunciation, rhythm, sentence structure, and natural expression. For beginners, I can explain clearly in English and help them build a strong foundation in pinyin, tones, basic vocabulary, and simple conversations. For intermediate or advanced learners, I can provide more conversation practice, correction, cultural context, and help students sound more natural in real-life situations.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes, but shorter trial lessons can also be arranged depending on the student’s needs. I can teach children, university students, adult beginners, and learners who want to improve their speaking, pronunciation, listening, or understanding of Chinese culture.
