As your tutor for k-12 ELA, we will go over areas you may be struggling in by reviewing you current school work, discussing things that are holding you back, and creating a curriculum tailored to you and your needs, while also providing a fun environment free from judgement.
Getting to know my students needs and learning styles is my top priority! I want my students to feel heard, no matter what they are struggling with in the classroom. With my lesson structure, we will begin with review of what our key points of struggle are, looking over school work that relates to these areas, and then going through our lessons about these struggle points. Whether the student is a visual, audio, or hands on learner, my lesson will always be tailored to them, and no two lessons are the same!
As your ESL tutor, lesson plans will depend on the proficiency of the students English. For starting level students, classes will be taught with elementary level examples, pictures, and phrases, of course starting with the alphabet. I value to use of western media in my classes, so many lessons will contain references to media. For students with higher proficiency , we will use western media to learn native grammatical structure, expand our knowledge with more advance phrases and vocabulary, and so much more!! For all levels we will play lots of vocab/grammar games to make classes not only fun but educational. I've found you learn better when you are having fun anyway!
