About Tara

I was born in England and grew up bilingual in English and Serbian, and I also speak German. Being surrounded by different languages and cultures has always been a big part of my life, and I currently study Modern Languages with a focus on German language, culture, history and politics.

Alongside languages, I have a strong musical background. I have played the violin for over 13 years and studied Violin Performance at a conservatory in Vienna. Having spent so many years training my ear through music, singing and performance, I am particularly attentive to pronunciation, rhythm, tone and sound — something I love applying to languages too.

I previously worked in HR and recruitment, where I communicated with candidates, conducted screenings and worked with CVs and applications. This experience means I can also offer practical CV advice and help students feel more confident communicating in professional situations.

Outside of my studies, I love writing poetry and creative pieces, singing, songwriting, reading and music.

Having grown up bilingual and continued learning languages myself, I understand that being able to speak another language confidently is very different from simply understanding it on paper. I’m friendly, patient and easy-going, and I want my students to feel comfortable speaking, making mistakes and gradually developing an English-speaking style that feels natural to them.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for non-native English speakers who want to feel more confident speaking English and develop a more natural British pronunciation.

Rather than focusing only on textbooks and grammar exercises, I want to help you use English in real conversations. We can work on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, listening and the small details that can make your English sound more natural. As a native British English speaker with a musical background and a strong ear for sound, I particularly enjoy helping students hear and practise differences in pronunciation, rhythm and the way English is naturally spoken.

Lessons will be personalised around your interests and goals. We can have guided conversations, read books or articles together, practise pronunciation aloud, explore new vocabulary and work on areas of English that you personally find difficult. I can also recommend reading and other resources to help you continue improving outside our lessons.

As someone who grew up bilingual in English and Serbian and also speaks German, I understand language learning from both sides. I want lessons to feel relaxed and encouraging, so you can make mistakes, ask questions and become more comfortable expressing yourself without feeling judged.

Alongside conversational English, I can help with general writing and creative writing. With previous experience working in HR and recruitment, I can also offer practical CV feedback and help you present your experience more clearly and professionally in English.

Whether your goal is to sound more natural in British English, become more confident in conversation, improve your pronunciation or simply practise speaking regularly, we can build the lessons around you.
