About Siying
I am a teacher with five years of classroom experience and ten years of private tutoring. Raised in a Chinese-speaking household, I am fluent in both English and Chinese. I specialize in teaching English to ESL/ELL learners and Mandarin to beginners with no prior language experience.
I currently teach spoken and written Chinese to both children and adults. My lessons are structured and organized, using textbooks, workbooks, and detailed lesson notes to ensure learning is clear, manageable, and easy to follow.

I have nearly ten years of experience teaching Chinese using a blended instructional approach that emphasizes clarity, structure, and practical communication. Each 60-minute lesson follows a consistent, learner-focused format:
Warm-up (5 minutes): A short activity to activate prior knowledge and ease into Chinese.
Review & Needs Assessment (10 minutes): Reflection on previous material and identification of current learning priorities.
New Content & Skill Building (20-25 minutes): Introduction of new concepts through engaging tasks and custom-designed materials.
Guided Practice & Application (15–20 minutes): Hands-on practice using real-world scenarios to reinforce learning.
Wrap-up & Homework (5 minutes): Review of key points and assignment of targeted practice for continued progress.
After our initial session, I create a personalized learning plan aligned with each student’s goals - whether for business communication, everyday conversation, or long-term language development. Lessons are fully customized to support consistent progress and build confidence in real-life language use.
