About QINGSHI

Hi! This is Qingshi from China, graduated from Jilin International Studies University with a bachelor's degree in English. I've been living in the U.S. as an AUPAIR for one year, where I had the opportunity to meet friends from different countries and regions around the world. I taught them spoken and written Chinese from basis and shared the beauty and contradiction in Chinese culture. I enjoy the new perspectives and experiences from cultural collisions.

Currently, I work as a tattoo artist. engaging with people from around the world and exploring various artistic forms from different cultures. This experience has deepened my desire to share Chinese culture.

Through my classes, I aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese language and traditions, I also hope my classes to be rooted in real-life experiences, and applicable to everyday expressions as well.

I have 3 years of experience in teaching Chinese, including one year focused on preschoolers and two years on adult learners. I tend to use the mnemonic memory method and real-life examples to enhance accuracy. In preschool teaching, I spark interest through engaging traditional Chinese stories, starting with pinyin and the forms of Chinese characters and gradually introducing new knowledge. For adult learners, I prioritize individualized teaching plans based on their preferences, music and art for example, ensuring a more enjoyable learning experience.

Learning a language is like boiling water – it requires continuous heating; otherwise, it cools down, leading to setbacks. Keep at it, and everyone will see results.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my teaching method involves weaving memorable associations into the content, helping students in retaining information with greater accuracy.

My lesson begins with an introduction to the core concept, followed by interactive activities designed to stimulate associative memory. Through the use of visual aids, storytelling, and real-life examples, I create an immersive learning experience. This approach not only caters to beginners but also enhances the understanding of more advanced learners.

I tailor each lesson to the individual needs and preferences of my students, whether you're starting from scratch or aiming to refine your skills.

We can study through HSK which is standard for Chinese learning, YCT for children, with supporting powerpoint files. Additionally, other teaching materials would be involved if a student has any other preferences.
