About Joan
Hello, I am Joan, I'm a native Chinese speaker living in Chongqing, China, which is surrounded by mountains and famous for night view and hot pot.
I had gained 6 years' staff training experience on my job, which benefited me gain effective teaching methods and skills. I'm passionate in teaching and I love to communicate with different people from all over the world, share different culture and broaden each other knowledge. I'm an approachable tutor and I'll striving myself to help my students improve Chinese continuously.

TYPES OF MY COURSES
STANDARD CHINESE
Suitable for beginners to advanced students who have long-term learning plan and enough time on Chinese learning or need to take the Chinese proficiency test and obtain the certificate. I will provide HSK1-6 standard course textbooks, workbooks, audio files and test papers to help my students learn Chinese systematically and build a solid foundation in Chinese. The content covers all aspects of Chinese including listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course can facilitate development of integrated language skills and ability.
CHILDREN STANDARD CHINESE
Suitable for beginners to advanced students who are kids or teenagers. I structure the course based on the textbooks of YCT1-6 or Easy Steps to Chinese1-8, also add games and interactive content to foster children's interests, make the Chinese learning more easy and fun.
CHINESE LITERATURE
Suitable for intermediate to advanced students who have interest in Chinese literature. My literature class teaching material is 100% customized according to student's need, the content is include but not limited to The Book of Songs, Chu Ci, Pre-Qin philosophers' theories, Poetry of Tang and Song dynasties, etc.
SPOKEN CHINESE
Suitable for beginners to advanced students who want to improve listening and speaking in a short term. I will use Spoken Chinese Textbooks from Threshold to Intermediate editions based on the students' Chinese level. The course will focuses more on speaking and conversation exercises.
BUSINESS CHINESE
Suitable for beginners to advanced students who need to use Chinese in the work or want to develop their business in China. I can provide a variety of Business Chinese Textbooks for my students and adjust my teaching content and method based on their Chinese level, learning goal and business field.
CUSTOMIZED COURSE
Suitable for beginners to advanced students who want to learn or improve their Chinese in a specific area. I can customize the course for any topic my students interested in, such as Travel in China, Living in China, Sports Chinese, Medical Chinese, Chinese Culture, Chinese Reading,Conversational Chinese, etc.
