About Zhihan

Hi！ (translate in 你好) My name is Zhihan Liu 刘芷含. So here is a language habit different, in English, we write the family name at the end, but in Chinese, we write the family name in the beginning, which means Liu in Chinese written as刘。 Hope you enjoy this quick lesson!

I am a native Chinese speaker and grew up in China for 18 years. Then I came abroad to pursue my studies in the UK. Currently, I am a college student who is majoring in education.

Although I am a student, I have been teaching for the past three years with over 30 students, including in the local Chinese school and also teaching online. In the meantime, as a student, that means I am more flexible with anything new and quick to adapt. Therefore, if you have any requirements or expectations for the class, we can always have effective communication and find a way that is most suitable for you to learn.

With my Chinese identity, I definitely could offer you any aspects(listening, reading, speaking, writing) of teaching you require in Chinese learning and comprehensive Chinese language instruction; as a bilingual speaker, I can totally understand the challenges you may have when learning an additional language; as an education student and a part-time teacher, I have the great passion in teaching and also accumulate experience on it. Therefore, let's chat and find an efficient way for you to learn Chinese!

I'm eager to support you on your Chinese language learning journey, tailoring my approach to your unique preferences and needs. Whether you're seeking to enhance your conversational skills, perfect your pronunciation, or delve into the complexities of Chinese characters, I'm here to support you every step along the way.

I've taught using the standard Chinese curriculum, HSK, and can customize our lessons to your specific requirements. We can have free-form discussions, focus on daily vocabulary, or prepare for standardized tests—whatever suits you best. I have experience with students aged 5 to 40, and I definitely welcome learners of all ages as long as you have the desire to learn. We can discuss lesson duration (typically 40-60 minutes), and after each class, I'll provide you with class notes and new vocabulary to make reviewing easier. Let's embark on this language-learning journey together!
