About Mariem
My name is Mariem, I am 25 years old and I come from Tunisia. I am multilingual and have a passion for learning languages and appreciating new cultures. I speak French, Arabic and English.
I come from a very big family :) and have often used our summer holidays and pre-exam periods to tutor my cousins, nephews and extended family. They range from various ages, from toddlers to teens. I used conversational techniques to assist in improving their language skills, I developed games and activities to strengthen their vocabulary and grammar and ensure full immersion in the language.
I completed my matric in Tunis and have studied a diploma in fibre optics, I am currently enrolled for the 2024 academic year, studying hospitality and English in Cape Town, South Africa.
It would be a great pleasure and privilege to assist you in improving your language skills and confidence in speaking.

My teaching style is conversational, topical and flowing. I prefer to use subjects that my students choose, this assist with other exercises I’ve developed on building confidence. Flash cards, new vocabulary through contextual explanations and activities and PowerPoint presentations also support my method.
As a native Arabic speaker, my presence is conversational and interactive sessions. I strongly believe that conversational discussions are much more impactful than “chalk and talk” sessions.
