About Sophie
I am a senior music student at an arts high school program in Canada. I am also a member of a renowned children and youth choir where I hold the role of Head Chorister. This has allowed me to work with many groups of children to teach them repertoire and vocal technique for our virtual performances. At my arts school and in the choir, I have worked under the guidance of many experts in the music field to learn not only vocal performance pedagogy and technique, but also music composition, sight reading, and music theory. I have also taken exams in up to level 8 RCM theory and passed with advanced honours.

My teaching methodology is quite simple. I believe that teachers must do their best at all times and put care into their teaching in order for the learner to feel that they should do the same. I believe in leading by example, essentially. I think that support and understanding are also two other cornerstones that make a good teacher, especially in music which is such a subjective and often rigid field.
