About Bartholomew

I am approachable, enthusiastic, and dependable.

I absolutely love history and politics and took that passion into my time at University. My enthusiasm comes through in tutorials which creates engaging sessions that will stimulate learning.

My introductory session focuses on understanding a students requirements and how they learn most effectively. I then adapt lessons to suit the student's needs and help them achieve the top grades.

About the lesson

I work with students to enable them to reach their maximum potential by building up knowledge to a high level, developing critical analysis, and mastering essay structure. Through my experience at A-level I will be able to pass on specific knowledge and methods of how to achieve an A*/9 at A-level and GCSE.

My tutorials are typically an hour and follow the below structure:

- Getting an initial understanding of a student's capabilities.
- Building up knowledge base to a point of mastery.
- Essay questions and out of tutorial work will be set to develop a student's ability and push for the top grades.
- Discussion of examiner reports, exemplar responses, and mark schemes to better the student's understanding of exam technique and essay structure.
- Writing essay responses together to allow students to ask specific questions on structure and technique.
- Development of critical thought, judgement, and analysis.
