About Chris
I am very passionate about music and I can spend hours helping students and my friends with their theory homework. I study music theory and I am working under the direction of Fred Carama, training in voice. I am aspiring to sing opera and continue my studies at the Conservatory of Music in San Francisco. We got big dreams here :D

I love to help other students in my program understand HOW to understand music theory through 1-on-1 sessions where we move at your pace. I’m open to helping wherever I can and love discussing music. Homework help is what I can really help with, but if actual lessons are needed, we can navigate what you NEED or even WANT to learn. I know times are rough right now, so I’m always willing to negotiate a plan that works for you, especially with students who hardly seek help. We can always work something out!

With the basic amount of experience playing the trumpet and piano from my youth , I was able to earn a passing score on my university Music Theory Placement Exam after only a few sessions studying with Chris. Chris is very knowledgable in identifying key signatures, scales, intervals, constructing chords with/without inversions, and many other topics that are beyond me at my current level. Additionally, Chris is able to connect textbook material to playing the piano in a way that successfully expresses what is going on both on the page and sonically.
