About Myriam
I am currently undertaking an MPhil in Musicology at Keble College, University of Oxford, fully funded by the Oxford Graduate Scholarship in collaboration with the Talbot Fund. Alongside my studies, I am a Graduate Choral Assistant at Keble College and occasionally sing with The Queen’s College Choir. I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge, where I studied Music as a Choral Scholar at Girton College. During my degree, I was a core member and soloist with the Cambridge University Chamber Choir. I received several awards in recognition of my academic achievements, including the Daphne Bird Instrumental Exhibitioner, the Girton Pioneer Award and the First Class Sophia Turle Scholarship. I was also nominated for the Bennett Prize, recognising my contribution to the College community.
As a singer, I have performed as a soloist on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and Spanish National Radio (RNE). Alongside performing, I am also a composer. I have studied composition with Jeremy Thurlow, Marta Gentilucci and Stéphane Crayton. My composition Love is with us (2026) was highly commended in the CARMACK Composition Competition and performed under the direction of Edward Wickham at West Road Concert Hall in March 2026.
Throughout my musical education, I have been fortunate to receive a range of scholarships and awards. During my undergraduate studies, I was selected for the CAMRAM scheme, which enabled me to receive tuition at the Royal Academy of Music, studying harpsichord with Carole Cerasi and voice with Piran Legg. Before university, I studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and Ashbourne College, where I held full scholarships.
I am passionate about music and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with students of all ages and abilities. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to develop your technique, musical understanding or confidence in performance, I aim to provide supportive, engaging and tailored lessons that help you achieve your individual goals.

I have a broad range of expertise in various disciplines regarding music theory. I am happy to help with harmony or counterpoint at different levels from beginner to advanced, as it is one of my main fields of expertise, having helped several students prepare their Bach Chorale exercise for Music A-level. Furthermore, I am proficient in music composition, history, and more basic levels of music theory, preparing students for ABSMR exams or GCSE exams.
I can provide a tailored methodology for every student, depending if they want to focus on a discipline or develop their holistic understanding of music theory and music.
My lessons are usually one hour long, but I am happy to adapt to each student's preference.
