About Irma
I am 32 years old. I am a Hispanic Latino MSW Social Worker, working on getting certified by the state, and eventually would like to get my special aid certification as well. I moved to the US when I was about 18 years old and did not know the language. As it was hard for me to learn a new language and culture at that age, it was also amazing that there were a lot of people willing to help me. With the help of those people and my professors, I completed my Bachelor's in 2014. I kept challenging myself and completed my Master's in 2020. With that being said, I wanted to become one of those people that helped me and encouraged me to reach my goals, therefore I try as much as I can, to give back to my community, I love being a social worker as much as I love to teach.

I like to teach and have my group or individual sessions as funnier and entertained as possible. I like to have my clients engaged on the subject and encourage them to participate. I personally believe that is an easier way to learn.
I like to show videos/images to help clients relate to what are we talking about. Then pretend I am part of them so they can feel confident working with me. Then we practice and learn whatever the subject/ topic is.
I usually get a lot of compliments from clients as they feel comfortable learning and working with me.
