About Kyle
Early in high school, I had no interest in science and wanted to drop all science courses from my curriculum. After discussing with my parents, I reluctantly agreed to keep two (chemistry and physics). I struggled to keep up initially, but as high school progressed I became increasingly fascinated by the quantum world and developed an intuition for scientific curiosity.
After wanting to get rid of all science courses and pursue law, I ended up going to university for a BSc. in chemistry, working in research lab to be published in scientific journals, and then moving to Italy for two years to complete a Master's degree (MSc.) in photochemistry and molecular materials.
I am only saying this to show you that struggling early on should not discourage you and that you should keep many doors open because you never know what path you will end up going down. We change and evolve so much in our young years and it's important to learn and explore as much as we can.
I have been through it, and I am now here to help the next generation of scientists find their passion. I look forward to getting the chance to do so.

My approach is not just about finding the answer to a problem, but encouraging the student to develop a base understanding of the fundamental properties of the universe. This makes the process less arduous, more engaging, and allows them to answer a wide range of scientific problems.
A typical lesson plan varies based on the material and learning style of the student. I start with getting to know them and trying to understand where they are struggling and why. I usually prefer to be given some of their material in advance, so I can come to the session aware of what the student is working on. I believe in a compassionate approach to not undermine the student and encourage them to believe in the process and not give up. We will go through problems individually in which I probe and question the student's approach and invoke their critical thinking. For areas they are not familiar with, I can provide in-depth explanations and show how they can be extrapolated to different problems. I am a firm believer in not giving the answer away and allowing the student to find it after taking a mindful approach.
Overall, the student will have an engaging and attentive tutor who understands the struggles of learning a complex topic and will approach them with compassion to help them develop a fundamental understanding of the core material. Chemistry is a difficult and abstract subject, as we have to enter the atomic world, but it can also be intuitive with the right guidance. My goal is to ignite a passion and scientific curiosity in each one of my students.
