About Andrew
I am new to tutoring, however, I am significantly well-versed in the field of science communication.
Throughout my undergraduate degree I visited numerous schools, setting up and delivering workshops to those between 9 and 16 years old. My dissertation on this field aimed to improve scientific, specifically biological, understanding and promote enthusiasm and passion for biology.
The techniques I used to achieve these goals are directly translatable to a one-to-one tutoring experience. My depth of knowledge on all topics covered in the year 7 to A level curriculum, supplemented by methods for embedding this knowledge, will help students improve their understanding of all concepts.

I hold a BSc honours in biomedicine and I am currently an MSc Genomic Medicine student at St. George's University of London.
I provide tutoring in biology up to GCSE level.
Biology, specifically genetics, is my passion and this is something I wish to transfer to my students. Science communication is a big part of my degree and core to my ambition to become a doctor.
I look to give detailed and easy-to-understand explanations of all relevant topics, encouraging students to question the material they are being taught. I believe a true understanding of basic concepts is essential in biology; a science whose constituent elements are all inter-related and logical. For example, a thorough understanding of cellular structure makes most genetic and molecular-based biological sciences fairly straightforward.
I believe teaching with this in mind is a perfect method to helping those who are struggling with the content, and it gives student suitable grounding for any higher level education they wish to pursue.
