About Josie
I have worked as a primary school teacher since 2017, teaching across key stages 1 and 2 (Years 1-6). I have had a large amount of relevant training in relation to how to teach this age group, including specific training relating to the teaching of Maths.
I have used real life maths in a large amount of my teaching, turning numbers on a page into relevant, often practical, concepts which are easier for children to understand.

I am a Primary School teacher, qualified with a high level PGCE with QTS from the University of Cumbria and an Undergraduate degree in Biology. I am passionate about working with children and young people in education, stemming from the engaging education I received myself.
I teach all subject areas within the primary curriculum, with my strongest areas being Maths, Literacy and Science. I love teaching in a range of environments, eager to get outdoors if the weather is good, giving students the opportunity to connect their learning with the real world.
I am passionate, enthusiastic and creative, always looking for better ways to match my teaching to the learning style of my students.
