About Emma
Hi! My name is Emma! I have a BA in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Leeds, a Level 5 CertTESOL qualification from Trinity College London and Certified C1-level Spanish from Instituto Cervantes. As a multilingual individual, who speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese I love learning languages and am passionate about helping others develop their proficiency in Spanish!
I have spent the past two years teaching ESL in bilingual schools in Colombia! I worked with students from preschool to year 11, from pre-A1 to C1, preparing students for their Cambridge English examinations from pre-A1 Starters to IELTS.
I also have 5 years of experience as a Spanish tutor, providing 1-1 or small group tutoring services to children and adults, both online and in-person.
No matter where you are on your language journey, whether that is just starting out or intermediate to advanced, I’d love to work with you!

My teaching style is friendly and relaxed, my classes are highly customisable and can be tailored to your needs and interests!
I have experience teaching adults from pre-A1 beginner to intermediate B1 and will conduct lessons according to your language proficiency.
In our first session, we will get to know each other better and I will assess your current language level and discuss your language goals and motivations to decide which teaching methods and lesson types work best for you!
For example, if you were an intermediate learner looking specifically to improve speaking proficiency, I could create a series of topic-based conversation classes to promote oral practice and teach useful idioms and expressions that are used often in conversational Spanish!
