About Cathy
I am a science teacher teaching at one of the top independent schools in Melbourne. I have a bachelor degree of engineering and master degree of teaching (secondary) from Uni Melb. I’m also passionate about teaching interdisciplinary science subjects. :)

I'm a passionate science teacher specializing in Physics. After achieving a bachelor's degree in Engineering, I decided to be a secondary school teacher to inspire my students to explore the principles and beauty hidden behind the science phenomenon in our daily life and help them to build scientific skill in the learning of chemistry, physics, biology, and other science courses.
I feel blessed to have a multicultural educational background and multi-disciplinary degrees and work experience. My education spans across China and Australia (Brisbane and Melbourne). I stayed at Brisbane for one year as an exchange student majoring in Chemical Engineering and Conducting professional experiments at the hydrometallurgical lab at the University of Queensland. Then I moved to Melbourne to pursue a master's degree in teaching (Secondary) specializing in teaching mathematics, general science, and physics. As a science teacher who was brought up in China, I deeply understand how effective communication plays a fundamental role in a learning process and how to foster EAL students to break the language barrier to truly get involved in the multicultural school community with respect to each other.
As a female engineer, I'm determined to encourage more girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I help them enhance knowledge and understanding of STEM concepts so they can form networks with like-minded peers.
