About Judith
For my undergraduate studies, I chose to study Biology and Spanish at the University of Notre Dame. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to tutor and guide high school and university students. I have tutored students in Chemistry, Trigonometry, Biology, and writing skills. All of my students have showcased significant improvement in their respective subject areas. I also acquired tutoring experience after graduating where I worked as a free-lance tutor, as well as a tutor employed by local test-prep company; therefore I also have experience with test-prep tutoring, and college level subjects eg Algebra, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physics I, and Biostatistics.
I absolutely love working with students and I encourage full engagement. My highest priority is ensuring that the student can improve their understanding of the subject material, and also develop an interest in the subject.

My most effective strategy has been my ability to break down seemingly complex topics into steps and terms that are better and more easily understood. One of my principal beliefs is that, in order to do well in a subject, it is important to be able to have an in-depth understanding of the subject, and form relationships between concepts. This strategy helps improve memory of the material, and also increase the student’s interest in the subject.
A typical lesson plan for the first lesson would include a discussion of current studying strategies, weak areas, and strengths. We would also discuss a few methods of improvement that are catered to your learning style. We would then review a few topics, and I would give an assignment based on the topics reviewed, in the hopes that during the next session we can assess your understanding of the topics, and your thoughts on the new studying strategies.
