About Milli
Hi there! My name is milli and I am currently in my first year studying Medicine at the University of Nottingham. I have been tutoring for over 4 years and would love to continue this whilst at university. Even though sessions will be online, we will be constantly working together in order to get the most out of each lesson! Science, biology in particular, can be so tricky to get the hang of, but I promise that within a few weeks we can build up your confidence and understanding of even the tougher topics. I love to chat and will make sure that every session is still fun and relaxed, so that we can learn and still have a good time!

My online teaching features a lot of discussion, where we work through questions together to improve understanding and problem solving for exams. I understand how important it is to understand the key concepts in science, so I make sure that we focus on this as well as practice questions and exam technique. As one of the biggest obstacles in biology is being able to apply knowledge to the exams, I will make sure that each session includes some exam board specific questions. Often, an emphasis is put on memorising, without advice on how to apply those facts to exams, which is where many students struggle. Talking through these questions and then looking at mark schemes in detail to see where to improve is an extremely effective way in boosting exam grades.
I struggled myself with chemistry at AS level, so understand first hand how to improve and achieve a top grade. I'm therefore able to pass on my revision techniques and advice in ways that other tutors are not.
Each lesson is around an hour, and I'll also provide resources to aid learning further in between the weekly sessions (i.e. powerpoints, question packs).
I have over 4 years of experience tutoring science at all levels and achieved 3 A* in Maths (Edexcel), Biology (Edexcel) and Chemistry (AQA) at A-level, as well as 10 9s at GCSE and an A* in additional maths. I also achieved a gold in the Biology Olympiad, placing the top 6%. As I am currently studying medicine, I can offer biology tutoring up to A-level (years 7 to 13) and general science lessons for up to GCSE.
