About Emma

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor specialising in science and maths in GCSE and A level. Having achieved 3 A*s in these subjects I am aware of the commitment and academic foundation needed to excel in these subjects.

I have worked with a range of pupils with varying academic backgrounds and have supported many students in improving their understanding and confidence by tailoring lessons at different paces and techniques involved that are best suited to the individual.

Alongside tutoring, I have led Maths and Chemistry help desks throughout school in teaching pupils problem-solving skills and using worked examples to understand more in depth about topics. This furthered my communication and teaching techniques.

I am patient, approachable and passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each individual's goals and learning styles. Having achieved 3 A*s in maths, chemistry and biology at A levels, I understand what is needed to achieve well in these subjects and am able to share effective study techniques and routines as well as clear explanations due to a deep understanding of these topics.

I create sessions focused on understanding the core concepts and building on these. I have previous experience tutoring so I am aware of how to build on strengths and narrow in on any difficulties.

I aim to create an environment welcoming to questions with my lessons including worked examples and exam style questions to instil confidence.
