About Nina
I am a medical student and achieved A*AA at A-Level. I have previously tutored peers at GCSE level and look forward to tutoring you! As a patient and motivated person, I hope to centre all of my sessions around the student themselves and what they want to achieve. I know that struggling with concepts can be demotivating, but I hope my patience and understanding will encourage each and every student to keep on going! Also all of the subjects I am able to tutor are topics that interest me greatly and I hope for students to mirror that as their confidence grows.
I know from experience that learning the theory behind the science is what students focus on, but I hope to direct them towards doing as many exam questions as possible alongside theory. I'm a huge advocate of exam questions, as they allow different theories to be put into various contexts and further develop understanding. My aim is to focus on a students weakest areas. To do this I will explain the concept behind the topic, get them to explain their understanding of it until they are confident. I would then ask them questions or go through exam questions with them to show how they can apply this knowledge to different styles of questions.

From the first session, I will try to establish the level of understanding the student already has. I will then understand what their preferred method of learning is and adapt my resources accordingly. It is important to me to ensure that the session encompasses exactly what the student wants to cover. To achieve this, I will ask what topics the student wants to cover for the next session. That way I am able to prepare resources and questions for them. This will ensure that the session is made specifically for the student and they gain exactly what they want from it.
