About Kirti
Hi, my name's Kirti and I'm a 1st year medical student at King's College London that has achieved a 9 in GCSE biology and an A* at A level.
Having been through the medical school application process, I understood that time is quite valuable during years 11-13. As a result, in order to keep up with the academic demands of applying to med school, I've learnt how to be efficient with retaining content and practising it and I've found this to be most helpful with biology due to it being so content heavy.
Having struggled with biology at the start of year 10 to achieving a 9 at the end of year 11, I know exactly how it feels to put your all into revision and end up with a poor grade, and how lost it can make students. Hence, my tutoring sessions make a specific effort on being specifically tailored towards the student's needs so that they can get exactly what they want out of it, and I understand that no two students are the same and will have their own methods of learning to which I'll adapt my teaching style to.

As a first year medical student, Biology has been a strong suit for me. Having achieved a 9 in GCSE Biology and an A* at A level Biology, I understand exactly how to revise and study in the most efficient way possible to secure those top grades.
My lessons usually range from 1-2 hours in length and are aimed at all ages from 11-18 (11+ level to A level). Although it varies case by case depending on what the student wants, a typical lesson would start off with correcting any homework set in the previous session, then going through the content for that session and finally guiding the student through a few practise questions of varying difficulty before leaving the student with some more questions to get on with before the next session. I've found that this method of tutoring yields the best outcome in terms of student engagement as it means I'm not stuck on one part of the session for too long, as well as retaining the content - especially with biology as practise questions are the best way to consolidate learning due to it being such a content heavy subject.
