About Zi Lin

I'm a 2nd year medical student at the University of Sydney and graduated from Macleans College. I've tutored for the past 3 years with 300+ hrs of experience. I'm well versed with CIE & NCEA, having obtained 5 A*s at A-level and 6 NZQA scholarships through self-studying the NCEA syllabus. I can offer quality tutoring in Maths (Calc & Stats), Bio, Chem, Physics, and English Literature for CIE, NCEA, and IB if required. My strong suits are Maths, Chem, and Bio — as I've won a silver medal at the 2019 International Biology Olympiad, which I can offer special tutoring for as well.

About the lesson

A typical lesson begins with me reviewing homework while the student goes through a prepared quiz or reading material. Each lesson will cover certain learning outcomes which will be derived from the relevant syllabus, and I will provide helpful notes at the end for revision as well. My tutoring style prioritizes interaction, comprehension, and appreciation of the topic over rote memorization and lecturing the student. I aim to teach rather than lecture.
