About Lara
I am a graduate of Economics and Education with a Master's degree in Educational Psychology. I am an Educational Psychologist, with a passion for teaching. I understand how a learner's self-perception can greatly impact their motivation to learn.
In the last 20 years, I have supported several young learners to make their ambitions a reality and several adults in writing their success stories achieving mathematics qualifications using the contextual learning approach. This has helped to improve learners' self-perception and motivated them to aspire to higher academic qualifications. The individual brain possesses the capacity to learn as much as you are ready to learn given the right environment and support.

I have a passion for teaching and believe that it should be personalized to achieve the desired outcomes for every learner. A 'one-size-fits-all' approach would not deliver effective teaching and learning across all learners.
I have taught Economics and Business Studies at GCSE, AS, and A levels. I also teach GCSE foundation Maths. In the last three years, I have delivered the Functional skills mathematics and English curriculum across EL1 to L2 with a record of 75% first-time pass rate.
