About Robert
Everyone, even myself, has needed help every now and then. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but it is a sign of strength. Everyone wants to succeed and do well. It is up to each individual to take that first step and to ask for help. I am a firm believer in getting to know the people I help each student as an individual since that helps us to be honest with each other. I tell each of my new students this - if you feel I am not the right person for you, just let me know. No hard feelings at all. This is about your success, not mine. My success with you is seeing you gain confidence and needing my help less and less. I am here for you!

I have found that developing a trusting relationship with the student enhances success. I want to get to know the student and what are their strengths and concepts they need to work on. I want to reinforce the concepts the student is being taught by their day-to-day teachers, but providing an open, friendly, and personal way to ask specific questions. I understand that each session costs money and I want to operationalize that time with the student. I want both the parents'/guardians' and the students feedback on what will help them. Even though I live on the East Coast, I tutor students on the West Coast since I am a late night person and tutor up to midnight Eastern time.Over the past several years, I have had a majority of my students in middle scho0l math, pre-algebra, and algebra 1. However, I have had many students as young as 3rd grade and as old as beginning college students. I do not do this for a paycheck (although it is nice), I tutor since I have been a teacher all of my life and enjoy seeing young people to succeed!
