About Harrison

I am a Mathematics Student at University College London (UCL), and have gained tutoring experience since starting at school. I achieved A*’s in both Further Maths and Maths at A level and have qualified for the British Mathematical Olympiad through UKMT Maths Challenges. I live in London during term-time and in Hertfordshire otherwise.

I have some free time and would like to take on a few students who are willing to put in the work to get better at maths and get closer to mastering the A-Level or IB courses. I am very confident that anyone is able to do this given the right guidance and I look forward to meeting you.

About the lesson

My teaching method is a thorough review of those harder topics fundamentally to develop a deep understanding, and then doing every question under the sun, with focus on the level of questions that really test the student and make them think.

Another thing I have learnt that can be extremely effective is to let students access STEP questions, which, for those who do not know, are question papers used for entry to University for Maths courses. These questions are solely based on A-Level and A-Level Further Maths content and the solutions are reachable for those willing to put in the work. These questions make the normal A-Level questions relatively easier and the students often then find it much easier to work through A-Level problems, as STEP develops a new way of thinking and problem solving.

I also have effective ways of teaching the GCSE courses in Mathematics, and Additional Maths (stand alone mathematics course) taught at some schools.
