About Alicia
I wasn't always as confident in STEM subjects as I am now. Up until year 11, maths made some sense but my understanding was always very surface level and would go out my head the next day. My year 11 teacher inspired me and helped me see the power in this subject and suddenly everything clicked. When I see this happen for my students at school, it makes me feel very accomplished and sharing the knowledge of maths is important. I am a patient, caring and fun individual who wants you to succeed and have access to resources with school to do this.

Lessons are 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes depending on preference. I believe strongly in a teaching why something works rather just a method as I believe this method leads to longer term retention and better general problem solving skills. I have worked with children since I was a child, having volunteered at atheltics camps from the age of 12, becoming a gymnastics coach for ages 3-16 at 21 and currently (at age 23) teach maths in a secondary school part time. I have a 2:1 in Mathematics from Leeds University and a strong understanding of the current GCSE and KS3 syllabus' and a passion to help others feel empowered by mathematics.
