About Sze Yee Penelope
I have been teaching in Singapore (both Government and Private Instituitons) for the past 15 years and well versed in the Singapore GCE Ordinary, Normal levels, Cambridge IGCSE Chinese and the International Baccalaureate syllabi.
My acquired knowledge in my Masters Programme (Masters in Education: Developmental Psychology) aids me in understanding the learning needs and thinking processes in adolescents, so I better engage my students in their learning and am a better facilitator in the growth of their personal development.
Students should be guided to lead, but not follow. I do not spoon feed because by inspiring learning in students, they become self-directed; I do not always give a definite yes or no, because the grey areas sometimes teach students to empathise and understand; I do not believe in the strong focus of academics, instead, I engage them to pursue self-pride and excellence, because with that, comes the results.

I have taught students from ages 9 to 20 for 15 years and believe in providing fun, creative and enjoyable educational experiences to students.
I am versatile and adaptable to the different learning needs and wants of students from different academic, learning and cultural backgrounds, and will customise lessons according to students' learning needs and goals.
Hence, the duration and frequency of a class is highly dependable on the child's desired learning outcomes, and can range from an hour to two. Lessons includes learning, application, reinforcement and advancement (学习 应用 巩固 加强). Different learning tools snd pedagogies are used according to the child's learning style and age, and incorporating outdoor learning, info technology learning and hands on application experiences.
