About Andrea
I have been teaching for over a decade. Most of my classroom experience is with ages 9-12, but I've worked with all ages from primary school to junior cycle. As an experienced classroom teacher, I am familiar with students that are working below, at, or beyond what is typical for their age as well as with students with ASD, dyslexia, or specific learning disabilities. I have also often worked with students whose first language is not English.
I love reading and writing, so I adore bringing that joy to my students.
I just moved to Ireland from the United States. I am applying for my Irish teaching license, but I am excited to work with students in a one-on-one setting as well!

Students learn best when they relate to the content and when they can have fun with it, so I always try my best to make the lessons something that students are going to enjoy and remember!
Tutoring sessions will vary based on the skill(s) we're working on and the student's prior knowledge and learning style, but most lessons will include:
- Reviewing relevant learning that was covered last time to lock in the learning and start out strong.
- Demonstrating new skills to build toward the learning goal.
- Guided practice with the new skill to gain confidence and correct any mistakes.
- Applied practice to use the new learning in an authentic way.
I have experience working with students aged 6 through 16 both digitally and in-person, so we can work in whatever way is convenient for you.
