About Stephen
I have been playing drums my entire life, growing up in a musical household with a father who still tours with his band at nearly 70 years old! I was an active member of my junior high and high school bands, earning several awards during that time. I further honed my skills at a private music school in Houston before graduating from The Joe Raynor School of Music shortly after high school. Over the years, I have studied various forms of drumming and percussion, and I’m passionate about sharing this knowledge with eager minds. Professionally, I tour regularly with the Ryan Ross Band, which has gained over 30,000 plays on Spotify and many more on various social media platforms. This holiday season, we will be opening for Nashville recording artist Cory Morrow. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of being the worship leader and praise and worship drummer at San Marcos First United Methodist Church for over 10 years. Before that, I served as the praise and worship drummer at First Baptist Church in Wimberley, Texas. While I have taught lessons locally in my area for many years, I’m now thrilled to offer my expertise and share my passion for drumming with students from all around the world!

Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
I have known Stephen most of his life. He is a very fine musician and is very knowledgeable in his music. One must play for years to understand the different types of music and how to explain that process when teaching. I myself am in my 52nd year of playing music and i usually don't relate to the younger crowd. Stephen is a beautiful soul that relates to all he sees. This is paramount when relating to students and dealing with the music business.
