About Gustavo

Hi! My name is Gustavo — I’m from Argentina and have been living in North America for the past four years. I completed a Master’s degree in the United States, where I honed my English skills (C1 level), and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Canada where I'm working on my French skills (currently at a B2 level). I’m a passionate language learner and educator who loves sharing my native language and culture. Over the years, I’ve helped students of all levels improve their Spanish — whether for travel, personal interest, or academic success at the high school and university level. I'm currently doing a PhD in volcanology — yes, I study active volcanoes! Outside of academics, I’m an adventurer at heart: I love traveling, exploring new cultures, and connecting with people from all over the world. I’m communicative, patient, and highly adaptable. I tailor my classes to each student’s needs and interests, because I truly believe that language learning should be a fun and meaningful experience. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your Spanish, I’d love to support you on your journey!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is fully student-centered, meaning I adapt every lesson to the student’s goals and interests. I adapt the study material and format to the student preferences, because learning is most effective (and enjoyable!) when the material is relevant to you! I use real-world materials (news, podcasts, songs, movies or series scenes, memes, etc.) and integrate them into interactive activities to make each lesson dynamic and meaningful. I always start by identifying the student's level, objectives and interests — for example, are you learning Spanish for travel? Academic reasons? Conversation? Certification? Then I tailor the content to match those needs. I focus on building a strong foundation in oral communication (speaking and listening), reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar and vocabulary in context. I also pay attention to accent and pronunciation, and give the student the choice to focus on a more neutral Spanish accent or on an Argentinian Spanish.
