About Carolina
¡Hola a todos! I am a graduate of the University of Córdoba in Spain, fully qualified British secondary school teacher and also TEFL qualified. I bring over 7 years of experience teaching Spanish in British schools at KS3, GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level. Whether you are seeking comprehensive exam preparation, Spanish refreshers, confidence building for teenagers, or starting from scratch with Spanish, I offer affordable lessons to all age groups, from beginner to advanced level, personalised to your learning requirements. Outside the classroom, I’m a language and culture enthusiast who’s obsessed with all things Spanish! I run a website where I share my love for the language and my own learning materials, and dive into quirky facts and cultural gems. I’ve even written and illustrated a bilingual children’s book, because why not combine storytelling and language? In my free time, you’ll also find me painting, doing arts and crafts, or getting inspired by anything creative!

My typical lessons last for 1 hour and are fully personalised and designed to suit each student's needs, goals and learning style. I focus on all core language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) while creating an immersive and engaging environment that brings the language to life. I recommend starting with a 30-minute free session so I can assess the student's requirements and explain more about how we will work together. Being a native speaker allows me to offer students a deeper, more authentic experience. I integrate cultural content, real-world language and current Spanish media (such as music, film, and articles) into lessons to enhance vocabulary, cultural understanding and confidence. This ensures my students not only learn the language and achieve top results in their exams, but also connect with the richness of Hispanic cultures! My typical lessons last an hour, though I can adapt depending on your preferences. I use a blend of structured grammar instruction, exam-style practice, and interactive conversation to support steady and meaningful progress. I am highly experienced in teaching and preparing students for their GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level exams (AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge). Whether you're a student preparing for exams or an adult learner wanting to build fluency, I offer supportive, results-driven tuition tailored to all levels and ages. My aim is to make learning Spanish rewarding, effective and enjoyable.

I took Spanish lessons with Carolina for around a year to try to get to a good conversational level. The results have been incredible and I can't thank her enough! She is super patient and I could really tell she puts a lot of her own time in to tailor lessons. Besides just getting much more fluent, I've learnt a huge amount about Spanish culture and little nuances of the language that you simply can't learn on apps and I haven't really gotten from other tutors before. Carolina is a gem - I highly recommend!
