As an educator, my approach is built on the belief that true learning happens when a student can think critically, synthesize information, and communicate with clarity. I blend structured guidance with open-ended inquiry to not only cover content but also develop the underlying skills needed for lasting success.
My teaching method centers on the Socratic dialogue, where I use questions to help students explore their own reasoning, followed by a scaffolded process that breaks complex tasks—such as writing a personal statement or analyzing a historical document—into clear, manageable steps. Lessons typically begin with a brief review and goal-setting, move into a focused mini-lesson on a key concept, then transition into guided application where the student actively works with feedback. We close with a clear set of action steps to build momentum between sessions.
What sets me apart, is my dual perspective as an experienced IB educator and a college admissions mentor. I’ve taught courses like Theory of Knowledge, which trains students in critical argumentation—a skill that directly translates to compelling applications and interviews. My 15 years in international education, along with fluency in multiple languages, also allows me to connect meaningfully with students and families from diverse backgrounds and to guide them through high-stakes processes with cultural awareness and strategic insight.
My tutoring is designed for high school students pursuing competitive university pathways, especially those in IB, GAC or Canadian Curriculum, I support students in profile building, application strategy, essay development, and interview preparation, with an emphasis on helping them articulate their authentic narrative.
