Vamos a conversar desde el primer día de clase... En mis clases de idioma se respira confianza, lo que ayuda a fortalecer la adquisición de conocimientos; se promueve la comprensión auditiva y se despierta la fluidez; además, se sensibiliza culturalmente al estudiante. Porque hablar un segundo idioma no es solo decir palabras en otro idioma. Es profundizar en su cultura, en su razón de ser.
Ya lo decía Mandela: “Si le hablas a un hombre en un idioma que entiende, se le sube a la cabeza.
Si le hablas en su propio idioma, llegará a su corazón ".
Puesto que hablarle al corazón, implica entender su cultura y de alguna manera, ser partícipe de ella. Así, todas mis clases de español parten de contextos culturales auténticos, reales y no de historias inventadas. En todas mis clases, está presente el matrimonio, idioma y cultura.
Espero que juntos disfrutemos de esta unión indisoluble.
We will start conversing from the very first day of class... My language classes foster an atmosphere of confidence that strengthens learning; they promote listening comprehension and encourage fluency, while also fostering cultural awareness. After all, speaking a second language is about more than just uttering words in another tongue; it is about delving into the culture and the very essence of that language.
As Mandela said: “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.
If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
Speaking to the heart implies understanding a culture and, in a way, becoming a part of it. That is why all my Spanish classes are grounded in authentic, real-world cultural contexts rather than fabricated stories. In every class, language and culture go hand in hand.

Soy Patricia, guatemalteca, sociolingüista y facilitadora de español como segundo idioma e idioma extranjero. Aprovecho los temas culturales auténticos para presentar el contenido de una clase. A la par, introduzco la gramática de forma natural y utilizo el vocabulario del texto para conversar, hacer diversidad de ejercicios e incluso para discutir. Mi plan de clase parte de un ice braker relacionado con el tema cultural y está adaptado al nivel lingüístico del estudiante. He sido tutora de español por más de 30 años, con actualizaciones anuales; por lo tanto, sé aplicar la mejor metodología, las técnicas necesarias y cuento con una innumerable cantidad de estrategias para apoyar a mis estudiantes a alcanzar sus objetivos; todo ello, según su estilo de aprendizaje. He facilitado el idioma a jóvenes adultos, adultos y seniors en cualquier nivel lingüístico e incluso con problemas de aprendizaje.

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening.
I am Patricia, a Guatemalan sociolinguist and a facilitator of Spanish as a second and foreign language. I use authentic cultural topics to present lesson content. At the same time, I introduce grammar naturally and use vocabulary from the text to facilitate conversation, a variety of exercises, and even discussions. My lesson plans begin with an icebreaker related to the cultural theme and are tailored to the student's language proficiency level. I have been a Spanish tutor for over 30 years, regularly updating my skills; consequently, I know how to apply the best methodologies and necessary techniques, and I possess a vast array of strategies to help my students achieve their goals—all while adapting to their individual learning styles. I have taught Spanish to young adults, adults, and seniors at all proficiency levels, including those with learning difficulties...
