About Freddy

I worked for several years in the field of environmental consulting for the petroleum industry, the food industry, aquaculture, electricity and construction in an international context. Therefore, I have excellent knowledge in impact studies, environmental assessment, environmental monitoring of works, proposal of environmental measures, management of regulatory files land use planning, integrated management of coastal areas, eco-design, promotion of projects aquaculture, among others. In addition, my professional past brings several years of experience in a personal design office, as an expert consultant in the life cycle of projects. I collaborated as an environmental consultant for the design of the “National Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan” and the prospection of potential areas for aquaculture, within the Ministry of the Environment of Venezuela (Technical Directorate of Coastal Zones ). My evolution towards project, plan and program management activities will be an added value for your organization. Having validated the diplomas "Management of the environment, energy and climate", and "Valorization of biodiversity and bio-resources", I will be able to assist you in the teaching of classical biology for college students or for more projects major projects related to biology and conservation steering projects and prospecting for new actions taking into account environmental issues.

About the lesson

I approach the subject in a structured way according to the needs in different areas of biology. But also other more specific disciplines such as Knowledge and development of ecosystems and biodiversity • Definition and implementation of monitoring programs, monitoring protocols, Research of bio-indicators, analysis and interpretation of data, statistics, recommendations • Knowledge of hydrosystems and ecosystems: Watersheds, Wetlands, Mangroves, Herbaria, Coral Reefs, Endofauna, Plankton, Microbiology, Ichthyofauna ... • Inventories: Taxonomy, biodiversity (fauna / flora) terrestrial, coastal and marine (benthic and pelagic) • Physico-chemistry and chemistry of water and sediments • Physical oceanography and modeling • Cartography: GIS database, cartographic atlas. Fisheries and aquaculture • Strategies for developing the fishery and aquaculture sector: participation in the preparation of regional strategic plans and action plans. • Socio-economic approach of the sector • Fisheries resource management consultancy • Health risks linked to contamination • R&D: Sustainable and innovative fishing and aquaculture, diversification of trades towards multi-activity, experimental fisheries, new techniques • Product transformation sector of the sea. Research and Development • Ecological engineering: restoration of natural environments (Coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves), artificial reefs, reinforcement of riverbanks • Adaptation to climate change: fight against coastal erosion by creating synergies in ecological engineering and maritime • Bioindication • Sustainable fishing & aquaculture • Environmental decontamination: bioremediation, plant discharge areas, decontamination of port sediments
