About Sharon
My teaching journey began when I was still a high school teacher in Taiwan. I spent my weekends volunteering to teach children Art and English and found my passion in education. When I moved to Indiana for college, I continued teaching while pursuing a Public Relations and Marketing degree. I enjoy all things creative such as fashion, writing, and design. Being a tutor helps me combine my communication skills, creative interests, and wisdom in a way that helps people develop a love for learning.

I have a lot of experience teaching children between ages 2-14. When it comes to kids learning Mandarin, I incorporate a lot of stories, games, and music to help them learn. The lessons will be more focused on new vocabulary, slowly grouping sentences together, and many reviews each class.
If you are an adult looking to learn Mandarin, fear not! I am experienced in helping people learn Mandarin too. Classes with adults start with an understanding of what you would like to achieve first (ie, speaking, listening). We'll incorporate a lot of current events to help!
