About Yan
Hello! I am Yan. I am a native Mandarin speaker. I have been a world language teacher for 21 years. I love teaching and help students to grow! I love teaching Chinese language and culture the most. I am currently working as a Mandarin teacher in a private school in San Francisco Bay Area.
I have a Master's Degree in Education. My strength is to individualize the students' curriculum. My students always tell me that they can't wait for my classes each week because they are so fun! I hope I will have the opportunity to help you or your child grow in Mandarin skills too!

I always believe in interest is very important when we talk about learning anything. My classes are full of fun activities while students are diving into the language and culture. My classes include Mandarin songs, stories, games, hands-on activities to engage students and learn a lot in all four areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will learn Mandarin in fun and interactive lessons!
