My Approach to Teaching Mandarin
As a preschool tutor with two years of experience, I specialize in teaching Mandarin to non-native speakers, primarily English-speaking beginners. My approach is structured yet playful, ensuring a strong foundation while keeping students engaged and confident as they learn.
Teaching Techniques & Methodology:
I use a communicative and immersive approach, blending visual aids, songs, storytelling, and everyday vocabulary to help learners absorb Mandarin naturally. I focus on:
Listening and speaking first, then gradually introducing reading and writing
Repetition and interactive activities to reinforce new vocabulary and sentence patterns
Cultural elements like holidays, food, and customs to make learning meaningful and relevant
Lesson Structure:
A typical class is 30 to 45 minutes, tailored to the student’s age and attention span. Each session includes a warm-up, vocabulary introduction, practice through games or stories, and a short review. Consistency and fun are key!
Qualifications & Experience:
I have two years of hands-on experience tutoring Mandarin to preschool and early elementary learners. My strength lies in making the language accessible and enjoyable for beginners, especially those with no prior exposure. I’ve successfully helped students build confidence in speaking and understanding Mandarin from the ground up.
